Refrigeration and Air Conditioning
Depending on the requirements, a combination of copper or silver brazing alloys—selected to suit the material—is used along with the appropriate brazing flux. Stainless steel and aluminum materials place higher demands on the brazing process and require the use of special brazing alloys and fluxes designed for highly corrosion-resistant materials. Brazed joints between material combinations—such as copper and stainless steel—can be achieved using silver brazing alloys with a high silver content.

Brazing
Silver and copper brazes used in KK technology must withstand the harsher operating conditions typical of this type of plant engineering. Sudden pressure fluctuations, temperature changes, and extremely low temperatures down to -196 °C may occur. Copper brazing alloys without silver cannot be recommended. The brazing alloys CuP 279 (Cu-Rophos®2) and CuP 281a (Cu-Rophos®5) are suitable for use down to -50 °C, CuP 284 (Cu-Rophos®15) and CuP 286 (Cu-Rophos®18) are suitable for use down to -70 °C. For lower temperatures, phosphorus-free silver brazes are used. Stainless steels should be brazed with the silver brazing alloy Ag 156. For all applications mentioned here, the fluxes FH 10Cu-Rosil® and Cu-Fe No. 1 can be used as needed.
