The oxide-reducing effect of germanium in the FELDER NiGe solders is also associated with a consumption of this element in the soldering process. The ideal Ge-content in the solder bath should be between 0.008 % and 0.015 %. The germanium content of 1000 ppm in FELDER ISO-Tin® “Sn100Ni+ High-Ge” makes the addition of germanium concentrate obsolete and ensures a consistently high germanium content in the solder bath.
